Hurricane Ike Refugee – Day 1
I was up late watching the news back home via the Internet. I am a little concerned about my place: my condo is on the 24th floor of a high rise and I have large windows facing downtown. Right now, that looks like it may be the dirty side of the hurricane.
I have removed a lot of things from harm’s way (in case the windows blow) but I did leave most of my furniture in place.
Now that I started planning things for my stay in Cancun, I have realized that I left my swimming shorts back home … off I went shopping.
I drove down to Playa del Carmen to see about scheduling some scuba diving but I discovered the water is too choppy because of hurricane Ike. I was offered the chance to dive a cenote but I have done that before and once was enough for me.
