SEO
Years ago I was supporting a web farm as a UNIX Systems Administrator/Engineer and I was asked to look into a problem with a website. But this was a little different for me – this had to do with why a website was not being indexed on search engines. The next thing I know I am modifying system files and I am my work with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) took off.
Of course, SEO is more than just modifying system files: it is about how you create your website, wording, having your websites referenced and so much more. But websites are not equal and they require different SEO approaches – this is where I am asked to help.
I still do a lot of work as a UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator and I enjoy taking things apart – it is a good balance to my SEO work. But, as I get older (and the hardware gets heavier to rack), I appreciate my SEO work more and more.
